E-Powertrain Sensors

eRSS - e-motor Rotor Speed Sensor

Stand-alone, contactless, active sensor providing the speed and direction of the asynchronous motors by detecting the rotation of a ferromagnetic encoder wheel mounted on the rotor shaft.

Stand-alone, contactless, active sensor providing the speed  and direction of the asynchronous motors by detecting the  rotation of a ferromagnetic encoder wheel mounted on the rotor  shaft. The speed signal is required to drive the torque of the  asynchronous machine through the inverter control board.

Benefits & Features

  • Easy signal processing / gives directly the speed information to the inverter with high accuracy
  • Low current consumption
  • Easy filtering of noise on signal
  • Potential standard ferromagnetic target wheel
  • Sensor resolution set to customer request
  • Independent of the number of motor poles pairs
  • ASIL B (ASIL D on request)
  • Rare earth free (no supply chain dependency)
  • Low cost attractive concept (ferrite magnet & 2 wires output signal)
  • Low weight
