Choose Vehicle Type
Convoy driving is both tiring and monotonous, but is an everyday feature in the right-hand lane. With Adaptive Cruise Control, drivers can select a constant speed without getting too close to the vehicle ahead.Unlike the systems of today, the new one, with a wider acquisition angle and higher resolution, is able to stop a vehicle even from high speed to a standstill by managing the brake system. The system will also be able to detect if the vehicle in front begins to move again and will notify the driver in this case via an acoustic signal. If the driver confirms the signal, his vehicle will accelerate automatically, all the while maintaining proper following distance, up to the pre-selected speed or the speed permitted by the flow of traffic. The new ACC systems warn the driver promptly before possible rear-end collisions. With predictive brake preconditioning, they can shorten the stopping distance, possibly enough to save lives.
