Power Electronics

The Power Electronics includes an inverter and a DC/DC converter. The inverter converts the direct current of the battery into the three-phase alternating current that is required by the electric motor. During recuperation, the power electronics converts the alternating current generated by the electric motor into direct current, and thus charges the battery. The DC/DC supplies the 12 Volt boardnet of the hybrid and electric vehicles with power, which makes the 12 Volt alternator redundant.
