Continental will demonstrate its solutions under the theme “Experience Future Mobility, Today!” at the 20th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition being held from April 18th to 27th. We will showcase our architecture and software solutions for software-defined vehicles, a broad portfolio of innovative technologies for assisted and automated driving. It will include the industry’s first software-defined long-range High Resolution LiDAR (HRL)131, as well as Child-Presence-Detection, a display and lighting projection technology for immersive user experience, and various solutions for the sustainable mobility. A press briefing with CEO Nikolai Setzer and China CEO Enno Tang will be held on April 19 at our booth at # 2BC007, Hall 2.2.
PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS
Child presence detection with ultra wideband

Extension of the ultra-wideband technology with sensing features to enable child presence detection. When integrated in the OEM car architecture the system allows a precise detection of occupants e.g., child in the cabin. More info
Curved Ultrawide Display

Infinite space for new experiences. This is the world’s first curved pillar-to-pillar display with shy control surface and 129-cm display area providing infinite space for a seamless user experience. It features a premium design creating a living room on wheels. More info
Driver Identification Display

The world’s first display with secure authentication is a convenient, touchless solution for driver identification and mobile payment. The seamless invisible display integration of the camera increases user acceptance. More info
Vehicle Control HPC

The Vehicle Control HPC is the central High Performance Computing platform for integration of x-domain applications. It realizes a flexible platform for integrating Continental and third-party software applications and services, providing a heterogeneous, secure and save interoperable multi-operating system environment. Vehicle Control HPC acts as a central data and communication hub in the software-defined vehicle for cloud/IoT services, enabling new mobility concepts and an improved end-user experience by enabling over-the-air updates and upgrades that enable vehicles to evolve and adapt throughout their lifetime. This innovation is already in mass production for major global OEMs. More info
Function as A Product

With Continental’s “Function as a Product (FaaP)” portfolio we offer a full range of body & actuator functions as fast and cost-efficient off shelf solutions, which are ready to be integrated in x-Domain products. Based on our long history of supplying body electronics, our new hardware decoupled function applications bring the software defined vehicles to live.
Zonal Architecture with Zone Control Unit

Zone Control Units (ZCU) reduce vehicle network complexity as well as costs by supporting centralized architectures and the increasing separation of soft- and hardware. Additionally, they are a prerequisite for continuous updates, improvements, and function deployment services to support the transformation towards the software-defined vehicle. ZCUs enable a domain independent zonal management of vehicle functions. They consolidate functions in physical zones close to the sensors and actuators and form the middle layer between the server level of the High-Performance Computers and the individual sensors and actuators “on site.” More info
Holistic Motion Control

Continental’s Holistic Motion Control software is the command center to orchestrate all vehicle motion actuators for longitudinal-, lateral-, and vertical control. Our host independent SW product is a unified, actuator agnostic interface which is decoupling vehicle driving functions from the vehicle setup during manual-, assisted- and autonomous driving with integrated stability control. In line with the Software Defined Vehicle trend, it is a key enabler for hardware independent SW function and feature innovation over the complete vehicle lifetime. More info
