Using powerful hardware and an open software frameworks allows us to easily integrate all kinds of features on the head unit today.
By merging park distance control sensors with the 360° surround view system and with both functions being processed on the head unit, we are creating the first step of a sensor fusion platform. Drivers and passengers benefit from an automatic change of the viewing angle towards the closest obstacle.
The Park Distance Control (PDC) sensors detect any object which is near to the vehicle. The Surround View switches to the camera that is closest to the object and displays the obstacle.
