Driver Steering Recommendation (DSR)

Braking on roads with different friction coefficients results in asymmetric braking forces, respectively a yaw disturbance torque towards high-μ. This results in a longer braking distance for the benefit of a stable situation. The DSR function generates an additional steering wheel torque offset to give the driver advice on how to react the right way in situations that are difficult to handle for the average driver.

  • Especially in load alternation driving situations, during cornering or lane change maneuvers on low friction roads (snow or ice) an oversteering tendency of the vehicles appears. DSR recommends a torque offset so that the driver reduces his/her steering effort in a proper way
