Continental Inks MoU with Chongqing University for Automotive Cybersecurity Laboratory

This partnership would strengthen automotive cybersecurity & privacy of both parties, while developing talents around vehicle cybersecurity

Continental Holding China Co., Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT) for an automotive cybersecurity joint lab collaboration framework. Based on the principle of “complementary advantages and win-win cooperation,” the two parties will work together to strengthen the foundation and frontier of their automotive cybersecurity and privacy. They will also promote the cultivation of vehicle cybersecurity talents, deepen the research of joint projects of key common technologies, contribute to the development of vehicle cybersecurity, and improve the construction of the industry.
 
The signing ceremony was held in Nanshan campus of CQUPT. Dr. Thomas Meurers, the Chief Technology Officer of Continental China, and Lin Jinzhao, the vice-president of CQUPT, exchanged the documents representing the MoU. In line with the context of this partnership, Continental Automotive has recently successfully passed the certification audit according to ISO/SAE 21434:2021 and implemented a robust Cybersecurity Management System (CSMS) within the organization. ISO/SAE 21434:2021 is an internationally recognized standard that establishes a comprehensive framework for effectively managing cybersecurity risks throughout the entire lifecycle of automotive systems.
