Continental Trend Antennas. Understanding Future Mobility.

Identifying and Exploring the Mobility Trends of the Future

As part of the five Trend Antennas based in Shanghai, Frankfurt, Regensburg, Guadalajara and Sinagpore, students and scientists are working with Continental to research the mobility trends of the future. Deliberately kept separate from the daily routine of an international corporation, this is where young, innovative, and creative brains work together with their professors and teaching staff to identify and analyze mobility trends and convert them into ideas for new projects and products. Here, the primary focus is on a passion for experimentation. This approach encourages new perspectives that provide a fresh look at the automotive industry and its development potential. In the process, students benefit from the experiences they can gain from working on projects in collaboration with one of the world's leading automotive suppliers.

Around 170 students from 8 different disciplines are currently working on Continental Trend Antennas around the world. Each Trend Antenna has its own focal area. For example, in Regensburg it is apps that are designed and developed, while in Guadalajara it is prototypes. By contrast, the focus in Shanghai is on trends from Chinese society. In Frankfurt, students, teaching staff, and Continental are working on ideas for algorithms and software technologies. Singapore explores the possibilities of gamification to make driving more comfortable, secure and of course entertaining.
